Bowers & Wilkins has announced its new Px7 S2 active, noise-canceling headphones.
The popular, global audio manufacturer says that its latest headphones are built around an all-new acoustic platform that is designed to produce high levels of sound quality. The headphones incorporate newly developed, custom-designed 40mm drivers that are said to offer fast response times.
Bowers & Wilkins says the new 40mm drivers are set at specific angles within each ear cup to help ensure a consistent distance relative to users’ ears across every point of each driver to enable the headphones to produce a more natural and immersive listening experience.
Other features built into the newly announced Px7 S2 headphones include aptX Adaptive wireless technologies that automatically optimize wireless audio transmissions from compatible devices such as computers, phones, and tablets. These wireless technologies are combined with Bower & Wilkins’ digital signal processing (DSP) to provide users 24-bit sound capabilities.
According to the company, the new headphones support USB-C and 3.5mm cabling connections, and these cables are included, along with a carrying case.
The home entertainment category is especially susceptible to the supply chain crisis because there are so many individual components required. Despite that ongoing problem, the once-forgotten “home theater” category continued its strong comeback in 2021 likely driven by the ongoing house-bound public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Supporting the ability to fine-tune the performance of the headphones and aid the usability of the headphones, Bowers & Wilkins offers a companion app. The app can be used to pair the headphones to a smart device; the app provides convenient controls for the noise canceling options, and users can easily set the equalization (EQ) of the headphones.
Additionally, Bowers & Wilkins says the Px7 active, noise-canceling headphones provide up to 30 hours of wireless battery life, and the headphones can quick charge in 15 minutes to provide up to seven hours of battery life.
Bowers & Wilkins offers its latest headphones in a choice of gray, blue, and black finishes, and the Px7 S2 active noise-canceling headphones carry a retail price of $399.
