Revamped Lounge Area Raises Bar on Demo Design Flow for Mozaic AV Integration

Redesigning a showroom is a tough task that requires both a measured hand and a creative mind, and thankfully Mozaic Audio Video Integration has got both in spades. In fact, their redesigned showroom is so impressive the company recently took home a silver CE Pro Home of the Year Award for the best showroom.

When it comes to design, Mozaic Audio Video Integration’s mission is to make “Technology Beautifully Simple,” which is the central theme in all aspects of its design of the renovated showroom. CEO Michael Johnson notes that the mantra not only applies to the showroom but also to the business as a whole, especially now that the showroom more easily aligns with the company’s stated mission.

The original showroom was modeled after an art museum/gallery with some technology blending into the background, while other pieces stand out as statement pieces, he explains. Mozaic also has several original art pieces on display that were created by members of the team, further driving that point home.

Customers looking to find the right pair of high-quality headphones can simply sit down and test out the array of options available to them at Mozaic’s headphone bar.

When the integrator redesigned the lounge area, it was paramount to continue this theme for a cohesive design throughout. It was challenging to plan the design flow for not only the best aesthetics but also for how it could demo the space, Johnson says. “Perhaps the biggest challenge, however, was how to show all of the various aspects and features we wanted while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic in a small area,” he says. “The goal was to do so while making each aspect feel spacious and the user experience connected and seamless.”

While the space includes multizone audio, three surround-sound demo areas, a headphone bar, fully automated lighting and shades, a 2-channel audio and a landscape audio showcase. In order to fit all these disparate sections into one cohesive showroom was tricky, so every element was given careful consideration and plenty of room to “breathe,” notes Johnson — “creating an inviting space for our customers to visit and not feel overwhelmed with clutter.”

By working in tandem with its in-house outdoor audio and landscape lighting designer, Stephanie Johnson, Mozaic managed to incorporate everything it wants to demo while keeping a clean and modern aesthetic.
